ApeX SMC has this Market Structure window built in: all 8 timeframes, the bias, strength dots and detail card, calculated from your broker's prices on any symbol you trade. It also marks BOS and CHoCH on the chart and can alert you when a timeframe's structure changes.

How to read this page

What is a BOS (Break of Structure)?

A BOS is a candle that closes beyond the latest swing high (in an uptrend) or swing low (in a downtrend), in the direction of the trend. It means the trend is continuing. This page uses a 50-bar swing length and only closed candles.

What is a CHoCH (Change of Character)?

A CHoCH is the first close beyond the swing on the opposite side of the trend — the first sign that the trend may be reversing. The state stays Transition until a BOS confirms the new direction.

What is the difference between Bullish, Bearish, Pullback, Transition and Range?

Bullish / Bearish = the swing trend is clear and the internal structure (5-bar swings) agrees. Pullback = the swing trend is unchanged but the internal structure is moving against it. Transition = a CHoCH just happened and no BOS has confirmed it yet. Range = no new extreme for over 100 bars, the swing level was swept twice, the swing range is narrower than 2× ATR, or two weak CHoCHs happened in a row.

What do the Strength dots ●●○ mean?

Three checks: at least 2 BOS in a row in the same direction, the internal structure agrees with the trend, and the break candle body is at least 1.5× ATR(200). More dots = a stronger structure. Range has no dots.

How is "% aligned" calculated?

Each timeframe has a weight: M1-M5 ×1, M15/M30 ×2, H1 ×3, H4 ×4, D1 ×5. Bullish/Bearish count fully, Pullback/Transition count half, Range counts zero. The bias is the side with more weight, and % aligned is the share of weight that agrees with it. Below 50% the bias shows Mixed.

Why do some rows differ from my MT5 chart?

This page uses a market-wide NZD/USD price feed, not your broker's prices. Candle closes differ slightly, and broker wicks are often longer, especially right after the market opens. Small timeframes, where swings are close together, can therefore show a different state (Range most often). Candle times follow MT5 server time (New York + 7 hours) and closed sessions are skipped, so higher timeframes like H4 and D1 usually match. To see this table on your own broker's prices, use the ApeX SMC Indicator on MT5.

Why is this page not real-time?

The price feed is delayed about 2 minutes and the structure is recalculated every 15 minutes. For real time, the ApeX SMC Indicator for MetaTrader 5 shows this same table on your own chart with your broker's prices, and can alert you when the structure changes.

Data: NZD/USD spot from a third-party feed, delayed about 2 minutes, recalculated every 15 minutes. Candles follow MT5 server time (New York + 7 hours) and skip closed sessions; prices are not your broker's, so a few rows can differ from your platform. For education only — not financial advice.
